A Very fine old carved wooden traditional stool with janus heads and a well worn surface patina. This stool appears to have been carved by the Master Lobi Carver Sikire Kamabire of Gaoua, Burkina faso. The Stool measures 23 inches long x 12 inches tall x 6 inches wide.
We have been fortunate to offer 2 other works by the famed Lobi carver that were collected by noted dealer William Wright of New York, and can say without a doubt that this stool appears to be by his hand.
Provenance: Ex collection Karl Stirner, famed Modern sculptor / artist, Easton , PA, USA.
