A large and impressive old eroded wood sculpture of a mother and child, likely a maternity shrine sculpture, and likely from a Magar peoples shrine in the Middle Hills region of Nepal.

 

 The sculpture measures 38.75 inches tall on wooden base. 

 

Provenance: Ex Robert Banks collection, also reportedly Ex Irwin Hersey collection, New York.
