A Kerewa spirit board (Titi Ebiha), Kerewa people, Goaribari Island; Gulf province Papua New Guinea. (C. First half 20th Century). The board of classical style for the type, with a wonderfully stylized  figure with typical Kerewa features and the bodies with chevron designs. The surface showing age and use.
 A carved wooden panel of typical form for the type, the board in white  and accented with rust brown and black mineral pigments .
 Such  boards were believed to be the abode of an Imunu, or spirit entity that is represented on the front, Many of the boards were cut from old war canoes.
