A rare old and well used initiation mask from the Southern Bushoong/Kete region, likely dating from around WWII.  The original Headdress is still attached with feathers and woven grass cap , with Kuba velvet and woven grass adornment.  The mask still rertains its original geometric paintings.  The mask measures 14 x 10 inches. Ex Dr Brian Healy Estate, New York. ( Old Museum inventory numbers are painted inside. Museum collection is still unknown. )
